Objectives


Discuss Internet policies as related to the Latin American and Caribean environment .


Pre-requisites


Intended for persons from the public, private and academic sectors, who are involved with the design of public policies at national level.

Content


Subjects to cover: Primary subjects:

a) Infocenters.
b) Electronic Commerce.
c) Internet projects with social and massive impacts (examples: Educational, Medical, Universal Access, indigenous communities).
d) Citizen participation.

Secondary subjects:

1) Academic network roles and current Latin-American Internet ONGs.
2) Creation of multiple participative spheres at a national level.

Short presentations about other subjects of interest for the participant's profile. (Internet Reforms, Internet 2).


Methodology


There will be at least two principal facilitators in each of the four primary subjects , which will deliver long presentations, similar to seminars followed by question sessions.


Capacity


Maximum of 30 Participants.
